As a company, we have made a pledge to support four charities a year – one charity per quarter. We believe this is the best way to raise awareness of a plethora of different issues. We encourage everyone to get involved in some way, and make sure we help those that need it most.
In Q1, our chosen charity was ‘Driven Forward’. A small charity that originally started to provide food and transport for the homeless and extremely vulnerable. As the corona virus brought such hard times on so many, their demand increased dramatically. If you would like to donate or get involved, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
About the BHF
In Q2, our chosen charity is the British Heart Foundation – a very well known charity in the UK. Heart and circulatory diseases kill 1 in 4 people in the UK, a very staggering statistic. This is why it is so important to not just support and donate, but to spread awareness on heart disease and the very vital information that could save someone’s life.
The British Heart Foundation funds £100 million worth of research each year into circulatory diseases and what causes them. It’s a fantastic charity that spreads awareness of what risk factors there are, and the good news is a lot of them are easily controlled when caught early enough. Heart disease in a lot of cases is completely preventable and/or managed with the right precautions.
How YOU can get involved
There are many ways in which to get involved with this fantastic charity and support the cause. You can; donate money, quality items you want to get rid of (a list of what you can donate is on the website), fundraise, take part in an official event, leave a donation in your will, volunteer, join a patient panel or learn how to save a life. The BHF runs courses on CPR and how to use a defibrillator; meaning you’re prepared for any emergency.
How WE are getting involved
Here at Air Courier, we will be donating a percentage of Q2’s profits directly to the British Heart Foundation. This means that every time you book with us, some of what you spend will be going to the charity. I (Darcy, Air Courier’s Digital Marketing Manager), will be taking part in the Richmond RunFest 10K in September on behalf of Air Courier to raise as much money as we can. We are also encouraging all our staff to complete the step challenge, which is a good way to set your own goals, stay fit and healthy and raise some money for a great cause. We will keep you updated on how the staff get on on our socials, so make sure you take them out! (Links below).
Please consider donating to the British Heart Foundation, or finding your own way to raise money. All resources can be found HERE – https://www.bhf.org.uk, alongside information on how you can limit the risk of developing heart conditions with simple life changes.
By supporting us this quarter, you’re supporting the British Heart Foundation!
